Polk County Extension
Winter Weather Watch
(November - March)
2007-2008 Winter Weather Watch Forecast Description
The Polk/Hillsborough County Cooperative Extension Service Winter Weather Watch begins on November 15, 2007 and will continue through March 15, 2008. The Winter Weather Watch program serves agricultural producers with timely consistent weather information and minimum temperature forecasts recorded on a daily schedule during the winter months. Many growers from central to south Florida participate in this program and consider it a valuable tool in helping to protect crops from freezing temperatures.
The program is designed to provide educational information to growers along with daily weather forecasts to help growers make the best possible cold protection decisions for their operations. The ultimate decision on cold protection rests with you the grower, and the more reliable information you have the better your decisions will be.
