Polk County Master Gardeners

Master Gardeners provide the public with research-based information on gardening and landscaping. How can we help you?

Master Gardener activities include but are not limited to teaching classes both to adults and children, writing newspaper articles, staffing the plant clinic, which givess answers to homeowners' questions, creating and maintaining this web site, teaching worm farming and composting, designing and maintaining demonstration gardens so the public can see plants that grow well here.

Interested in becoming a Master Gardener?  The Master Gardener training class for 2017 has just ended.  We expect a new class to begin in 2018, but the decision on that has not yet been made. Click for Application forms and more information.

Plant Clinic

Having difficulty with your garden? Don't know what insects are attacking your plants? Check with Master Gerdeners for solutions to problems such as insect, disease and plant identitifcation, soil pH testing and more.  We are trained specifically to help and are available at no charge.
