Polk County Master Gardeners Program

Master Gardeners provide the Polk County public with scientifically based information on horticultural and wildlife pest issues. Master Gardener activities include but are not limited to: teaching classes both to adults and children, writing newspaper article, staffing the plant clinic where residences may get answers to their questions and issues, the creation and maintenance this web site, teaching worm farming and composting, designing and maintaining demonstration gardens so the public can see plants that grow well here and get ideas on good landscaping

Having difficulty with your garden? Don't know what kind of insects are attacking your plants? Check with Master Gerdeners for solutions to problems such as insect and disease identification, plant identitifcation, soil pH testing and more.  We are trained specifically to help and are available at no charge. 2016 GardenFest - Know and Grow

The 10th Annual Polk County Master Gardeners’ GardenFest will be held on April 23, 2016 at the Polk County Extension Office, 1702 Hwy 17-98S in Bartow, FL from 9 AM - 2 PM.

Gardenfest features beautiful plants for sale, “Know and Grow” workshops, a Garden Shop, and Booths featuring free pH Soil Testing, “Ask the Expert,” Worm Composting, Rain Barrels, Micro-Irrigation, and Aquaculture. Tours of the Demonstration Gardens on the premises will be offered.
